Who we are

Acqua Azzurra Agricultural Society S.r.l was established in 1988 and started operating in 1991.

After a careful study of the Italian shores, the decision of setting up a fish farming in Pachino, in the province of Siracusa, was motivated by the quality of the crystal-clear waters and by the seabed rich in plankton, far from industrial sites and in a stretch of sea where the currents of the Sicilian Channel and of the Ionian Sea meet.

The mariculture installation, close to the “Isola delle Correnti” and the “Capo Passero” islands, the latter which is known for its homonymous “Tonnara”, is located in the middle of a territory rich in nature reserves and of a large number of marine protected areas.

The chosen site guarantees the rearing of the fish in the best possible conditions as far as the health and quality are concerned in compliance with the habitats of the Tyrrhenian and of the Adriatic Seas.

Our Mission

Detecting consumers’ need of approaching to a correct and healthy diet, giving priority to fishery products in a moment in which this field is requiring the integration of traditional fishing with new ways of sustainable rearing in the respect of human health and preserving the environment.

Producing exclusively food chain products in accordance with the selective specifications of the Organized Large-Scale Distribution and with the implementing certifications, which are controlled and certificated by the competent Italian authorities from the reproduction up to the delivery at the sales points.
